Back in late 2022 A. Deyawolf first came across Dramione fanart, unbeknownst at the time that the beautiful fanart was in tribute to Manacled by SenLinYu. It was not till 2023 that Deyawolf finally came to read the fanfiction that had gripped the hearts of millions. And heart gripping it had been.

Taken by the darker world of Manacled's Harry Potter-verse and Draco and Hermione's tragic love story of sacrifice and heartbreak Deyawolf was inspired to recreate a fantasy romance just as harrowing, in not more so. ​

It began with Manacled, then along the way Time came in to play and the burning desire to know what other Triwizard Tournaments consisted of with a dash of Durmstrang Draco and a sprinkle of Slytherin Hermione, until, finally, WARTIME was born. In early 2024, after months of planning and research, the writing began and by 2025 WARTIME started being published.
